Dr Laios undertook most of her psychiatric training at the Alfred Hospital. She completed her Advanced Training in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry at the Royal Women's Hospital in 2006. She has been a senior staff psychiatrist there since 2007 and sees pregnant women, postnatal mothers and their babies, and parents whose babies are hospitalized due to prematurity and/or illness. In 2008 she completed her Graduate Diploma in Parent Infant Mental Health at the Royal Children's Hospital/University of Melbourne.
Dr Laios specialises in perinatal psychiatry but is also passionate about a range of women's mental health issues including mood/anxiety disorders, mother/baby bonding, pregnancy loss and the interplay between physical and mental health.
